To all MCHA current and future members:
Today we are posting the "Individual Player Registration" for the fall season 2008/2009. Please feel free to download, complete, and submit, (after May 1, 2008), in addition, all active members of the association will receive a hard copy via the US Postal service within the next few weeks. ONE WORD OF CAUTION - YOU CANNOT COMPLETE THE USA HOCKEY 2008/2009 ONLINE REGISTRATION UNTIL AFTER MAY 1, 2008. This process was new to everyone last year....just make sure that when you go online at www.usahockey.com to register your player, that you are completing the registration for the 2008/2009 season.
A couple of notes about player registration. As I stated to all the members a few months ago, the board members and I have dilligently worked to control costs, become as efficient as possible, and continue to focus on driving down costs so as many young athletes as possible can participate in our great sport. For the 2008-2009 season we have a REDUCED REGISTRATION FEE OF $125.00 and will still provide all of the essential tools/items critical to participation, which has set the MCHA apart from others.
During these tough economic times, it is our responsibility to attempt to make this sport as affordable and cost effective as possible. In addition to the reduction in registration fee we have already committed to better controlling ICE ALLOCATION to all teams which in turn will have a positive impact on monthly costs for everyone. As part of the reduction in fees, we've had to make a difficult decision to temporarily suspend one of the most costly (but a lot of fun) to our operating budget - the Joe Dumars Banquet events. While this event sets our association apart, it is simply not an essential tool in participation in the sport and to keep hockey affordable for all. We are currently in the planning stages of an alternative end of the season / closing day event and will provide updates through the MOM'S Club as they are completed.
With that said, I want to wish everyone a successful completion of the SPRING season in whatever activity you are involved with and hoping that all of you have a safe and enjoyable summer. As always, do not hesitate to contact any of the board members to have your questions or concerns addressed.
Thank You,
Kent Takacs
